Yesterday Warhol's Mao sold for 17,4 million. Meanwhile his 1962 Orange Marylin went for 16.2 millions while Sixteen Jackies from 1964 sold for 15.6 million.

I asked Christopher Makos about his opinion on Warhol's influence today: «Warhol impact is being felt in the most unusual way, he has become the prophet of all things modern. People are actually stars today without having to do anything except be beautiful. Beautiful people only have to be beautiful to have the world at their feet. Andy believed this and now the world believes it too».
