21st CENTURY HOLLYWOOD

Google's user-generated content arm, YouTube, has been mulling over linking up with the Hollywood big boys to broadcast full-length movies for free online. The site already has millions of what the movie industry is ultimately interested in— eyeballs—and at the last unofficial count the video sharing site had 79 million of views in January this year alone, mostly to watch short home-made and pirated video clips.According to the Guardian of London, YouTube has revealed that it's been in discussions with the big Hollywood studios. In a recent statement, YouTube said that it wants to launch the online movie service to cash in from shared ad-revenue deals by presenting films for free on its website. "Our goal is to offer maximum choice for our users, partners and advertisers," YouTube announced in a statement.
