«He (Haring), Jean-Michel, Kenny and Madonna started a club together. She and Keith were best of friends because he generated that energy and Madonna then was really mostly a dancer. It was a
remarkable art club they created, with performances Saturdays mornings, science fiction movies, and one-day art shows. The Paradise Garage was where Madonna had her first performance. When she did «Like a Virgin», they created a pink satin bed tilted forward towards Diana Ross who was watching maybe 2-feet away»
