«MUSCLES ARE GREAT: EVERYBODY SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST ONE THAT THEY CAN SHOW OFF»
Last february in New York City, Arnold appeared at The Whitney Museum in a live exhibition: ARTICULATE MUSCLE/THE BODY AS ART. A panel of distinguished art historians said their pieces. Colin Eisler, professor of fine arts at the institute of Fine Arts of New York University drew a comparaison between Michelangelo carving a body out of a piece of marble and the bodybuilder carving his own body. Much applause. When Eisler finally said bodybuilding «poses are the personification of 19 century-camp» he was booed. Someone shouted «Take your shirt off». Someone else threw a cushion at him.
