«I GREW UP A CATHOLIC AND I DON'T FEEL ANY DEMONS»

«Andy's earliest experiences of art was of religious art-it may not have been very good art, but unlike for many protestants or those outside the churches whose experiences of art may have been limited to museums, for Andy, art and religion were linked from a very early age. While Warhol was working on his huge series of paintings of the Last Supper, showing Jesus surrounded by his apostles at dinner before a table laden with bread, wine and fish, Warhol himself was quietly helping to serve meals to the homeless at the Church of Heavenly Rest in New York.
