«AND I THINK I SEE MORE HOMELESS PEOPLE ON THE STREET EVERY MONTH.HOW CAN WE LET THIS KEEP HAPPENING?» -ANDY WARHOL

The redoubtable Arianna Huffington's greatest achievement with “Third World America” may arguably be its title and premise: that America is rapidly falling apart, her seams are showing, her parts are rusting and failing, her financial stability is teetering toward collapse; that the American experience is no longer a story of hope and opportunity but one in which the rules are molded by the rich and powerful to favor the rich and powerful. The very idea of a “Third World America” should be maddening to any true American — and I don't care how you vote or to which political persuasion or offshoot you belong. We are the land of opportunity. For hundreds of years we have been the destination for those yearning to breathe free, to come to our gilded shores to find a better life. Sadly, we may no longer be such a great destination. There is a bipartisan inequity that has overtaken us. Whereas the government and our elected leaders may once have been advocates for the citizenry, they now instead serve only as mouthpieces for those already in control
