“I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD BE BUGGED ALL THE TIME...BUGGED AND PHOTOGRAPHED”

A New York University student -- and part-time photographer -- has made a school project that he says will allow celebrities to fend off paparazzi with a simple flick of the wrist.Adam Harvey, a photographer and graduate student of interactive telecommunications, has designed an "anti-paparazzi" handbag. When the purse is rotated 90 degrees and held vertically, it detects flashes and beams powerful LED lights back at photographers, ruining their shots. The inventor, 28, calls is a "weapon for you to block photos.""I know people hate paparazzi. I'm one of those people," said Mr. Harvey, who has worked as an event photographer for BUST magazine in the past. "I thought that it would be nice to develop some device that allows you to decide whether you want your identity to be public in a public place."
