«IT'S CALLED GOSSIP AND OF COURSE IT'S AN OBSESSION OF MINE»
A postmortem examination is to be carried out on Michael Jackson's body this afternoon amid growing speculation that the singer's long-term use of painkillers could have been a factor in his death last night.A spokesman for the Los Angeles county coroner's office said the cause of death would be released if it could be definitively established, but warned that toxicology tests could take several days, if not weeks.Police officers were posted outside the coroner's office this afternoon as preparations for the autopsy continued inside. There were reports that police were looking for a doctor who lived in Jackson's house and may have treated the singer shortly before his death. A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles police department (LAPD) told the Guardian that officers intended to speak to the doctor, and said medical interviews were routine in such cases.
