Vancouver wants to make gay athletes feel as welcome as possible at the 2010 Winter Games. A special PRIDE House, set aside at the Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre Hotel, is being created for queer competitors. 
Gay Whistler, a local organizer of gay ski events, said, "PRIDE House will be a haven where Olympic and Paralympic athletes, coaches, family, fans and allies (can) come out and be their authentic selves regardless of sexual identity. PRIDE House will be a hip lounge where guests can chill and watch the games, trade pins or just hang out and meet other 'kewl' open minded individuals."Something tells us there'll be more figure skaters than hockey players showing up at the venue, but we could be wrong.
