THE DANDY WARHOLS

Few touring rock bands, if any, love the job perk of being adored more than the Dandy Warhols. Luckily for them, there was plenty of adoration to go around during the band's eclectic set from the not-quite-sold-out crowd at the Vic Friday night.
The Dandy Warhols' persona -- like that of artist Andy Warhol himself -- is one of outside observer/active participant in the trappings of all things rock. They celebrate and comment on all things rock and yet, are rock stars themselves. And as Warhol's art was commentary on pop culture that became, in turn, part of that pop culture, so is the Dandy Warhols very existence a comment on the rock 'n' roll lifestyle.
