THE FAME GAME IN 2008
In 1968 the American pop artist Andy Warhol forecast that "in the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes," as the fleeting celebrity of pop culture developed. But now PR "guru" Mark Borkowski has come up with a "fame formula", by studying a range of well-known people, to calculate the shelf-life of a celebrity career.Mr Borkowski believes that Warhol was almost correct, but concludes that people who are pushed into the limelight in this era can expect their initial fame to last for 15 months.
