“IT'S CALLED GOSSIP AND OF COURSE IT'S AN OBSESSION OF MINE" -ANDY WARHOL

(Standford academic) Kirsty Fairclough's recent PhD research into celebrity gossip blogging led her to investigate the phenomenon of the train wreck, the female celebrity whose body produces a "curious mixture of desire and repugnance".
She said: "There is a real paradox within society today. On one hand, female celebrities crave freedom. But on the other hand, they still pander to conservative ideas of sexuality through what's been called raunch culture. "Women are routinely condemned for their behaviour in the media, but this isn't just misogyny from men - the bitching culture tends to be about women against women.
