A new exhibition of work by Annie Leibovitz will take UK audiences to a place she has never previously allowed them to go: her personal life including her relationship with - and the death of - her lover Susan Sontag. The photographs of a hardly recognisable but unmistakably dying Sontag and then, a month later, her lying at rest in a funeral home could be the most moving in a show at London's National Portrait Gallery later this year, which mixes the personal and the things Leibovitz is best known for - her celebrity portraits for Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair magazines.
