«IT'S CALLED GOSSIP AND OF COURSE AND IT'S AN OBSESSION OF MINE»- ANDY WARHOL

«These are the mags that helped turn Big Brother contestant Jade Goody into a mega-star, even when she thought that Saddam Hussein was a boxer, and that the population of Portugal spoke the little-known language, "Portuganese''.
Now, however, the love affair with chav culture, played out in gory detail through the pages of the celeb weekly, may be coming to an end. The latest magazine circulation figures for Britain and Ireland showed that some of the big weekly titles suffered massive drops in the six months to December 31.Heat and Closer, once two of the stars of the market, have both seen their sales falling faster than a Tinseltown drunk. They are down 11pc year-on-year. Sales of Now magazine have plunged 13pc.The decline of D-List appeal is not just shown in magazine sales. The drop comes as reports suggest viewers are turning off reality shows such as Big Brother, and its countless imitators.»
