The human spirit craves excellence... Being in the presence of excellence brings out the best in people; looking up is better moral exercise than looking level or down, but with mediocrity riding shotgun on the stagecoach of national life, American popular entertainment offers little in the way of spiritual aerobics.
Having too many celebrities and not enough excellence makes it impossible to tell who deserves respect and who does not...
