«GEE, THAT'S GREAT!»

PHILOSOPHY BOOK FOR THE 21 ST CENTURY: DONALD TRUMP AND THE ORANGES

People always say that you should think about people who are less fortunate than you when you feel depressed. But actually it doesn't work. I know some people are starving but I also know that i'm not going to be starving tomorrow and I know I won't be hanging out on Fifth Avenue either. So since I can't relate to any of those human condition in my daily life it doesn't make me any good to think about it. But thinking about the human condition of people who lived centuries ago or the one of people who will be living in 200 years from now really can make you feel better. Back then in the 17 th century for exemple people didn't have all the conveniences we have now and the rich thought they were so grand because they were able to afford apples and oranges in winter.

Now we also know that one day people will be immortal. So the people in the future who will have conquered immortality will look at someone like Donald Trump as a kind of guy who liked to show off he was able to afford the «apples and oranges» or the late 20th and early 21 st centuries. And they will think:« that's it? "When you think about that it's really easy to feel great about what you have. But at the same time it would be bad if everybody started to think that way because it would really hurt the economy.I mean who would buy the $29 Jessica inspired dress for plus size women?

«MUSCLES ARE GREAT»

SHOW BUSINESS 101

«Tab Hunter should star in the movie of my life. People would be much happier imagining that I was as handsome as that. I mean, the real Bonnie and Clyde sure didn't look like Faye and Warren.Who wants the truth? That's what show business if for, to prove that it's not what you are that counts, it's what they think you are».

PHILOSOPHY BOOK FOR THE 21 ST CENTURY: MONEY IS TIME

People say time is money. But actually it's the opposite. If you go to the dollar store you're never the first in line and you always have to wait while the fillipino lady is paying for some cheap plastic toys for her 7 kids. But if you're rich you never have to wait in line to drop some $ 500 000 at Chanel or 25 million on a new painting. That's really the best part of having money.

PHILOSOPHY BOOK FOR THE 21 ST CENTURY:

People say nobody read books now. They say it's because people don't have time to read anymore but actually that's not right. These days the only value left is money. So the rich want to make sure they are not doing an activity the poor can do. Could you imagine a billionnaire reading Proust and then discovering that some poor dude did the same at the public library? What would be the point of being billionaire? I guess that's why now you have all the really rich people buying 50 millions dollars golf club membership or buying cars they're never going to drive or 80 millions dollars painting they don't really like. So this way they know they will never run into some poor guy telling them he was on the same yacht as them in Monte Carlo last week and it really makes them feel great. I guess it's the same for beauty. Ugly people are the pleasure of beautiful ones, dumb people the pleasure of intelligent ones, and poor people the pleasure of rich ones.

Centuries ago people were saying that you shouldn't show how the kings and queens were living because people would revolt. Now people would revolt if you don't show them how the rich live while they're watching TV alone at night eating hot dogs. Isn't it a great century?

PHILOSOPHY BOOK FOR THE 21 ST CENTURY: THE HAPPINESS QUESTION

Technology is great. But it would be even better if we could take pictures of people passing by and then launch a little invisible camera above their head that would follow them for the next two or three weeks. This way people could see that the model they saw one hour ago at the beach is always fighting with her boyfriend. They would see that this old rich lady who looked so happy when she passed next to them is in fact always drinking at home to forget about her miserable love life and it would be great because they would see that the muscle guy everybody admired at the bar didn't actually have sex since three weeks because he thinks his biceps are one inch too small. It would really contribute to the overall happiness of the population.

PHILOSOPHY BOOK FOR THE 21 ST CENTURY: HOW TO ELIMINATE RACISM IN THE NBA

Just read that new study that says NBA referee call fore fowls against black players than white ones. But they also say the reverse is true when the referee is black. They should have only gay referee, so they would call less fowls for the team with the most good -looking players and everybody would always approve of that. Straight guys wouldn't see the bias, gay men would learn the difference between basketball and football and all the players cute babes are dating would automatically be the best scorers of the league. But I still don't know if they should have only male referee or lesbian referee doing the same for women basketball. Maybe the lesbian referee would always call fowls on the most beautiful girl and it would be bad for the sport...

THE ATHLETES SERIES

«Mr Warhol's Athletes Series created in the late seventies is little-known because it was a private commission. The artist was asked by a friend Manhattan socialite Robert Weisman to execute the series. He was said to be paid US$ 80 000. Each of the stars received US $15 000 to let the artists take as many Polaroids of them as he needed to get a suitable image to be silkscreened on the canvas as the basis of the portraits».
